Institute of public health Murska Sobota took actively part at Slovenian EU Presidency Conference, organized by Ministry of Health of Slovenia. The Conference took place in Radenci from 10th to 11th March 2008 with 110 participants from 25 states.
Public health experts from Institute of Public health Murska Sobota presented the document Health promotion strategy and action plan for tackling health inequalities in Pomurje region and the program of health promotion in local rural communities »Let's live healthily.( PP presentation attached).
An exhibition of aimed at introduction of programs, activities and achievements in the field of investment in health and development was organized during the Conference, particularly program » Investment in health and development-Mura«, accompanied by program's main partners, activities and products.
Institute of public health Murska Sobota presented programs and activities in the field of health promotion. In order to bring health promotion activities near to participants of the conference, public health experts and health professionals from Institute carried out determining of blood cholesterol level, % of body fat, BMI with counseling. Determination of these risk factors with counseling was performed in the same way as in local communities of region.
Cross-border partners were presented: Allami Nepegeszegugyi es Tisztiorvosi Zalai Megyei Intezete- Zalaegerzseg from Hungary, Zavod za javno zdravstvo Međimurske županije and Osnovna škola štrigova from Croatia. The partners presented good practice examples of cross-border cooperation in the field of promotion of physical activity and nutrition.
