Cooperation of Institute of public health Murska Sobota with International Association for Political Science Students (IAPSS)
Institute of public health Murska Sobota hosted for one day participants of international seminar » Youth bridging the gap: reaching out to Roma« on 27th July in Murska Sobota. The seminar took place in Ljubljana from 22nd-28th July in organization of IAPSS.Pomurje is known as a region of successful integration of Roma in local communities. The organizers and participants of seminar were interested to learn and see more of these examples of good practice.
The representatives of Institute of public health Murska Sobota presented:
• » Health promotion strategy and action plan for tackling health inequalities in Pomurje region, Slovenia. One of strategic objectives is reducing health inequalities in Roma community.
• Implementation of strategic objectives by project » Roma community-reducing health inequalities«
• pilot program for healthy lifestyle promotion in Roma community
Roma Union of Slovenia presented their responsibilities at this meeting.
In the afternoon hours participants visited Roma settlement kamenci.
